October 123 Challenge - I heart your Expressions xxx

Today I am here to share the October 123 Challenge with you. I really enjoyed creating my team sample for this one! Yellow is a colour I am really liking at the moment!

Here is the criteria for this month....

* COLOUR = Yellow
* WORD = Heart
* TECHNIQUE = Mixed Alpha Title or Journaling

Here is my sample:

Layout title: I heart your expressions.

Products Used:
Paper: White cardstock, AC Dear Lizzy paper, plain vellum
Alphabet: Silhouette America cut files
Embellishments: My Minds Eye enamel dots, A Piece of Cake Designs Cherry Flair button, Flutterby Designs tab, Freckled Fawn arrow clip and Puffy sticker, Elle's Studio die cuts, Heidi Swapp mistable banners, American Crafts glitter tape, D-lish Scraps washi, resin, bow, flowers, mini sequins, mini peg, yellow tickets, doily, paperclip.
Other: Typewriter, Silhouette Cameo, sewing machine and white thread, Heidi Swapp mask, yellow Faber Castell Gelato.

I created my title in the Silhouette Cameo Designer edition - I adapted a Dear Lizzy Bow Banner file to make it.  I also created a mini mason jar sequin pocket by using the vellum, a mason jar cut from the gorgeous Dear Lizzy paper and a mini jar of sequins available from D-lish Scraps

Here is a couple of close up pics taken during the creating of the jar: (I made 2 but only ended up using on of them) -

The finished jars.

I was inspired by the gorgeous layered scalloped banners which can be found in some of the more recent Crate Paper Ephemera packs. So I decided to create my own with the Dear Lizzy Papers.

I'm loving all the gorgeous embellishments in the D-lish store including the cute new Freckled Fawn puffy woodgrain heart sticker - and a page wouldn't be complete without an APOCD Cherry Flair! This one is from the Blooming Lovely pack available in my store here....

I created this Heart paperclip from a tutorial I pinned on Pinterest, cute hey! I also covered a mini peg with a smidgen of American Crafts glitter tape to bling it up :)

Most of my pages lately have some form of tag with hidden journaling, I made these ones using plain vellum and some reinforcement stickers

Lots of layers and dimension, created using foam tape :)

As you can tell from my big post, I LOVED this months challenge! Why not support 123 and give this challenge a go. We had 35 amazing entries for September, would be awesome to get even more this month!

I will be back soon to share the latest Jot Magazine Mood Board and more :)

Before I forget, if you have bored kiddies home for the holidays who love to craft why not head on over to the Jot Magazine blog and check out 'Jot Kids'!

Jot Magazine - Mood Board #9

Have you seen the latest Mood Board from Jot Magazine? This gorgeous board was created with the help of fellow Jot Girl Kim Jeffress.

Image credits: Silk ribbons from hearthandmade.uk via Pinterest here>> 2. Hoop art from Send Amy Bell Over onEtsy here>> 3. Paper twine from paperphine.com via Pinterest here>> 4. Printable paper planes from onecharmingparty.com here>> 5. Orange chevron printed beach dress from gudrunsjoeden.de website here>> 6. Orange napkins from tahoeunveiled.com here>>

How stunning is it? I would be lying if I said that I thought this board would be easy to create a layout with. Yes, I loved the colours, but it is not the normal colour palette I would choose. Having said that, I love the layout I created and I would love using this combo again!

Layout Title: What a beautiful day

Products used:
Card stock: White
Paper: AC Amy Tangerine, Studio Calico, Plain vellum
Embellishments: A Piece of Cake Designs Cherry Flair button, Sassafras Lass stickers, Studio Calico bow and die cuts, Bella Boulevard Flag, My Minds Eye stickers, buttons and enamel dots, D-lish Scraps washi tape, doily.
Other: staples, sewing machine and white thread, Silhouette Cameo, Silhouette store cut file

Close up of the title and embellishment cluster, I let the 3x4 card from the Studio Calico paper act as the title.

Another cluster, love the Sassafras stickers I found when searching for coordinating colours.

This cut file, was actually the negative part of a sun I cut out for the recent layout I did for Scrapbooking Memories. I thought it worked perfectly with the parasol I am holding.

I will be back very soon with some more scrappy shares :)

Here's how you can enter the current mood board

The challenge runs until midnight 30 September 2013.* Create a paper project using the above mood board as inspiration. Use the colours, textures, patterns and pieces to inspire you. It can be anything made with paper — tags, layouts, mini books, cards, Project Life journaling cards, paper garlands or any paper-y project your heart desires.
* Write your blog entry on your blog and link to the Mood Board post at Jot Magazine which can be found here

Jot Magazine - 5pm Gallery - @5pm

Today I am here to share with you a layout I created for the 5pm Gallery in the latest issue, Issue #2 of Jot Magazine.

You need to visit the below link and flick to page 96-97 to see my layout.

For this layout I set myself a challenge to only use the 3x4" and 4x6" cards from the Pocket Page style packs that are available now from companies like MAMBI, Simple Stories, and Becky Higgins. Strictly no 12x12" patterned paper!

You can find a bit of a step by step on how I completed this layout on the Jot Blog here...
